Welcome to Seahorses Care Home where we look after those with dementia

Seahorses Care Home is situated in the Wiltshire village of Chiseldon, which is six miles from the historic market town of Marlborough and close to the large town of Swindon, with easy road connections to both.

Our purpose at Seahorses is to provide an environment that feels more like home from home than an impersonal institution. Each room has its own distinctive door and once inside, each interior conveys the impression of apartment-style living.

Every staff member has been with us for at least ten years, so the team completely understands the needs of older people with dementia and the degree of personal attention that's required. The same facilities, amenities and standards of care also make Seahorses an ideal choice for respite care.

To help create a dementia-friendly environment, our doors are painted in many different colours (red, blue, yellow, red etc.). By using murals of shop fronts and a library, the corridors may perhaps revive a long lost memory or two. Our culturally diverse approach, with access to music therapy if desired, can provide further intellectual stimulation. As well as enjoying the bright and spacious dining room which overlooks the main gardens, residents also have access to a delightful indoor garden.

Although our guests have beautiful views of the Marlborough Downs and Liddington Castle, Seahorses is set in a secluded environment, which provides the privacy and peace and quiet residents value.

As one of the oldest health care establishments in the area, Seahorses is proud of its reputation for offering excellent care and support at a time when it is needed most. By paying close attention to the personal and social needs of our clients, we have fostered a truly caring atmosphere.

Seahorses provides the support and supervision needed to help maximise physical, intellectual, emotional and social capacity, enabling residents to enhance their quality of life within a safe, manageable and comfortable environment.
