The staff at Seahorses are well qualified to offer a dedicated service to the older person who has Dementia or Alzheimer’s disease

We aim to give individual time and care to each resident, encouraging personal independence where possible through dignity in a cheerful and pleasant environment. This is supported through individual care planning regular training for health care assistants to the recognised NVQ standard, a professional care team and a highly qualified manager.

We offer long term residence and are very conscious of offering a ‘home from home’ environment. We have very few restrictions and visitors are welcome at any time. We fully embrace the idea that relatives are part of the support and caring process and actively encourage relative support. This along with input from the resident’s GP, Physiotherapist, chiropodist, optician, dentist hairdresser enables us to offer a full holistic approach.

Social activities are arranged on a daily basis with activities such as chair aerobics, bingo, movement to music and outside entertainers, music being the most popular should any resident wish to participate. We also spend time individually with residents, chatting, enabling our clients to get to know us and for us to get to know them.

The family are so grateful for the level of care and professionalism shown towards our mum. Such a lovely ‘home from home’, with staff that feel like family and anticipate every need. Home-cooked food that Mum wanted to eat and just the right level of support at every part of the dementia journey.
We feel lucky to have become mum's‘ children’ again, all the care worries taken away.

Review from Ursula P (Wife of Resident) published on 27 January 2022

My husband has been at Seahorses since 25th November 2021. During this time, I have witnessed a very caring staff who respect the resident's variety that dementia reflects. They are welcoming to family when visiting.

Review from C P (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 January 2022

My father has been at Seahorses since mid-November, just over 4-weeks, and I feel he is being well looked after. The care staff are really good with my dad, and all seem genuinely concerned for his welfare.
