Wiltshire’s independent, owner-managed dementia care home
Seahorses—situated in the Wiltshire village of Chiseldon—is six miles from the historic market town of Marlborough and close to Swindon, one of the county’s largest towns. Road connections to both centres are good. Although residents can enjoy beautiful views of the Marlborough Downs and Liddington Castle, dementia care is provided in a secluded environment, ensuring our guests experience the privacy and peace and quiet they value.

A considered and friendly environment—both inside and out
For older people in need of dementia care, Seahorses feels more like a home-from-home than any large and impersonal institution can offer. We know for example, that colour has an important role to play for those suffering with dementia. For that reason, each our twenty rooms has its own distinctively-coloured door painted in shades of different colours (red, blue, yellow, green etc.) And by displaying murals of shop fronts and a library, our corridors may perhaps stir a long-lost memory or two? Each room interior is reminiscent of apartment-style living.

Culturally diverse approach
If required, residents can experience music therapy, providing further intellectual stimulation. As well as the bright and spacious dining room—which overlooks the main gardens—residents also have access to a delightful indoor garden. (Almost every room has a garden view.)

Consistent levels of care and service
Every staff member has been with us for at least ten years. The Seahorses’ team completely understands the needs of those with dementia and the degree of personal attention that's required. The same facilities, amenities and standards also make Seahorses an ideal choice for respite care. As one of the longest-established health care establishments in Marlborough and Swindon, Seahorses is proud of its reputation for offering excellent care and support at a time when it is needed most. By paying close attention to the personal and social needs of our clients, we have created a truly caring environment.Seahorses provides the support and supervision needed to help maximise physical, intellectual, emotional and social capacity, enabling residents to enhance their quality of life within a safe, manageable and comfortable environment.

Review from Carol S (Daughter of Resident) published on 29 July 2022
The family are so grateful for the level of care and professionalism shown towards our mum. Such a lovely ‘home from home’, with staff that feel like family and anticipate every need. Home-cooked food that Mum wanted to eat and just the right level of support at every part of the dementia journey.
We feel lucky to have become mum's‘ children’ again, all the care worries taken away.

Review from Ursula P (Wife of Resident) published on 27 January 2022

My husband has been at Seahorses since 25th November 2021. During this time, I have witnessed a very caring staff who respect the resident's variety that dementia reflects. They are welcoming to family when visiting.

Review from C P (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 January 2022

My father has been at Seahorses since mid-November, just over 4-weeks, and I feel he is being well looked after. The care staff are really good with my dad, and all seem genuinely concerned for his welfare.
